About Tova's Shabbos Kitchen
Tova's Shabbos Kitchen is a small, independent site based in New Jersey. It shares make-ahead Shabbos and Yom Tov cooking: menus, timelines, shopping lists, and recipes that fit into a real week. "Tova" is the name of the kitchen, not a celebrity chef or a credentialed expert, and you will not find invented family stories or testimonials here. Just the food and the plan.
What the site is about
One idea: a full Shabbos with about an hour of hands-on work, split into a short Thursday-night session and a Friday-morning finish. Sheet pans instead of five pots. Sauces mixed in jars on Thursday. A cholent or a cold lunch for Shabbos day. Store-bought challah is still challah.
How the recipes work
- Recipes are built on standard, classic methods, with exact make-ahead, storage, and reheating steps.
- Every recipe is labeled meat, dairy, or pareve, and no recipe mixes meat and dairy.
- Ovens and ingredients vary, so use your judgment and check doneness with a thermometer.
- We do not give halachic rulings. For anything about cooking on Shabbos or Yom Tov, keeping food warm, kashering, or checking produce, please ask your rav.
- If something in a recipe looks wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
How the site is supported
We sell printable planners in our Etsy shop, ShabbosKitchenPrints, and we are preparing a $9 make-ahead guide, Shabbos in 60 Minutes. In the future some pages may include affiliate links or display ads. Read the full disclosure.
